Pick a “B”

Stampin Up, Pals Blog Hop, Demo Lynn Tague at BeyondBeachesandBlessings.com #BeyondBeachesandBlessings

Welcome to the June 2017 Pals Blog Hop. Thank you so much for joining us today. This month’s theme, Pick a “B”, features projects inspired by Babies, Birthdays and Brides to name few. You may just get a glimpse of new catalog products while you hop with us today.

Whether you’re just starting the hop, or have come from a previous Pal’s blog, you’ll find the line-up toward the end of my post to help you move along.

For today’s project I chose “B” for Baby and “B” for Birthday, sharing with you some projects I created using the new Bundle of Love Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP). This paper is beautiful and can be used for a variety of occasions such as baby, birthdays, weddings or anniversaries. This heavyweight DSP features Gold Foil on one side of the 12 sheets that are included, then six are Soft Sky/Very Vanilla and six are Blushing Bride/Very Vanilla on the other side. This beautiful and versatile paper is part of the Bundle of Love Suite on pages 102-103 in the new 2017/2018 Annual Catalog.

For the Baby Boy in your life, I used the Soft Sky/Very Vanilla paper to make this standard A2 card and 3″x3″ cards.

For the Baby Girl in your life, I used the Blushing Bride/Very Vanilla paper to make this A2 card and 3″x3″ cards. The 3D favors are from both the Blushing Bride and Soft Sky with Very Vanilla papers.

For that special friend or family member who likes a little bling, I used the Gold Foil/Very Vanilla paper for the following projects along with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder for the sentiments. I just love the fantastic prints available in this DSP paper pack, don’t you?

The 3″x3″ notecards were made to highlight the other two distinct patterns included in the new Bundle of Love Specialty DSP pack, the new Starburst punch (a new personal favorite), and the new Iridescent Sequin Assortment. The 3D favors, filled with the candy coated chocolate Sixlets, also demonstrate how you can use a thinlit or framelit to cut out a window.  Now that you have seen the Starburst Punch in all the 3″x3″ cards, what do you think? I just LOVE it paired with the stitched circle from the Stitched Shapes Framelits (another personal favorite).

The list of supplies available in the new 2017-2018 Annual Catalog I used to create today’s projects are included at the bottom of my post. Hope you enjoyed these projects and they inspire some craftiness in you. Let me know what you think of today’s projects and the new products featured by leaving me a comment below.

Stepping Up with Texture or Techniques

Stampin Up, Pals Blog Hop, Demo Lynn Tague at BeyondBeachesandBlessings.com #BeyondBeachesandBlessings

Welcome to the Pals Blog Hop for May 2017. We are thankful you stopped by to take a look at our 2017 Blog Hop monthly themes. This month we are featuring projects that are “stepped up” by using textures or fun techniques. We hope to provide you with lots of ideas and that you enjoy our creations.

You may just be starting the Blog Hop or may have come from the previous link from the Line-up on the Pals Blog Hop listing shown below.  The full lineup will help you move along from blog to blog so you may see all the projects.

Two years ago, we had the opportunity to visit Churchill Downs a few weeks after American Pharoah won the Triple Crown. American Pharoah had actually just returned to the stables at Churchill Downs about five days before we arrived there. Churchill Downs is an amazing place with rich history and traditions; it’s definitely worth a visit! To learn more about the history of the Kentucky Derby, click here.

This month my project is inspired by the silks worn by John R. Velazquez, the jockey riding Always Dreaming, the recent 143rd Kentucky Derby winner. While the actual silks worn were yellow and blue, the colors often appeared to me as if they were Lemon Lime Twist and royal blue on the television broadcast of the race. So, I have chosen Lemon Lime Twist and Pacific Point to use in my card today. If you’re interested in learning more about the history of horse-racing silks, click here. Have a look at today’s card.

Stampin Up, CAS, Congratulations Card, Colorful Seasons Stamp Set, Lemon Lime Twist, Pacific Point, Eastern Medallions Thinlits, Seasonal Layers Thinlits, Sparkle TIEF, designed by Demo Lynn Tague, See more cards and gifts ideas at BeyondBeachesandBlessings.com #BeyondBeachesandBlessings

The three diamond shapes were cut using dies from the new Eastern Medallions Thinlits and represent each of the three races that make up the famous Triple Crown. I used the splatter stamp from the Touches of Texture stamp set to represent the conditions of the track at Churchill Downs on Saturday, which was a bit muddy. I added the small flowers from the new Seasonal Layers Thinlits to represent the Kentucky Oaks race for the Fillies which was run on Friday at Churchill Downs, with Abel Tasman finishing first in this race.

I like to add layers of paper to my cards, separating layers with Stampin’ Dimensionals. After cutting my cardstock, I started by stamping the splatter stamp onto a piece of 3-7/8″x5-1/8″ Lemon Lime Twist cardstock, then I ran this piece through my Big Shot using the Sparkle Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. This piece was then adhered to a 4″x5-1/4″ piece of Pacific Point cardstock. I tied a ribbon around the lower portion of the card using the new 1/4″ Stitched-Edge Ribbon in Pacific Point. I applied Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back, then adhered to the Lemon Lime Twist card base. Next, I applied my fancy diamond shapes using Stampin’ Dimensionals and then stamped “Congratulations” in Basic Black ink.  Finally, I adhered the small flowers using Mini Glue Dots. You can find a full list of the supplies used at the bottom of my post.

Before you continue on your Blog Hop journey, I would love for you to leave me some feedback on today’s post and projects in the comment box below. Families First

Stampin Up, Pals Blog Hop, Demo Lynn Tague at BeyondBeachesandBlessings.com #BeyondBeachesandBlessings

Welcome to the Families First Pals Blog Hop for April 2017.  We are thankful you stopped by to take a look at our 2017 Blog Hop monthly themes.  This month we are featuring projects that are all about our families. This is a great time of year to think about what to make for Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, or upcoming graduations. And, family vacations are just around the corner…how would you want to remember those special family moments? We hope to provide you with lots of ideas and that you enjoy our creations.

You may just be starting the Blog Hop or may have come from the previous link from the Line-up on the Pals Blog Hop listing shown below.  The full lineup will help you move along from blog to blog so you may see all the projects.

The inspiration for my Families First Blog Hop project today is our amazing 27-year-old daughter. She teaches sixth grade Science in an urban middle school which has a very diverse student population. She is also finishing up her Masters Degree in Administration and will graduate in May. Therefore, a Graduation card seems fitting for today’s post.

Before we get to my Graduation card, I want to share with you how excited I am to have been chosen as a Display Stamper for Stampin’ Up!’s OnStage Local event in Minneapolis, Minnesota this past weekend. One of my favorite samples among those I created was this card using the new Lemon Lime Twist InColor cardstock along with the Beautiful You stamp set. It also features the new Lemon Lime Twist 1/4″ Ombre Ribbon. The new Ombre Ribbon comes in three color choices. These new products will be available June 1 in the 2017-2018 Annual Catalog. Take a look!

I just knew I had to recreate this card for our daughter as a Graduation card. This card reminds me of her generous and carefree spirit, along with her attitude of embracing the quote “Live, Love, Laugh” in her daily life.

For her Graduation card, today’s official project, I used the girl with the umbrella image and stamped the image by masking out the umbrella, and replaced with a fussy-cut Graduation cap. Check out the recreated version and let me know what you think? Do you think she will enjoy receiving her card?

Since I was only provided with the ink and solid cardstock for three of the five new InColors to use in my display samples, I needed a way to create some type of Lemon Lime Twist Designer Series Paper for the dress. To create her Lemon Lime Twist and Black Polka-Dot dress, I took a small piece of the white with black polka-dot paper from the retiring Pop of Pink Specialty Designer Series Paper and sponged with Lemon Lime Twist ink. The good news is, the Beautiful You stamp set will be available in the new 2017-2018 Annual Catalog along with this super, fantastic, new InColor – Lemon Lime Twist.

Now, don’t let the fact I used the masking technique a couple different ways on this card. It’s super simple! And, this card goes together quickly, too! The supplies used to make these cards are listed below.

Before you go, I would love for you to leave me some feedback on today’s post and projects in the comment box below. Let me know what type of cards you make most for family members this time of year. And, subscribe to my blog while you’re here by clicking on the Follow Me Now link to the right. You can also follow me on Pinterest here, Facebook here, Twitter here, or Tumbler here.

Excitement is Building for OnStage

Stampin Up, OnStage, Card and Gift ideas designed by Demo Lynn Tague at BeyondBeachesandBlessings.com #BeyondBeachesandBlessings

You may have noticed I’ve been quiet for a few weeks. Well, there is a reason for this. I learned a couple months ago I was selected by Stampin’ Up! to be a Display Stamper for our OnStage event later this week, and am just thrilled to have been chosen for this special opportunity.

Because of this, I have been very busy creating display samples for the event using new Stampin’ Up! products from the upcoming 2017-2018 Annual Catalog. In fact, I have been crafting so hard, I’ve been sweating glitter. Not really, but it sure sounds good!

Of course, I can’t share my projects with you yet; some things must be kept secret. Once I am able to share them, you’ll have lots of new product inspiration coming your way. I can’t wait to begin sharing my creations with you. This little detour in my journey has been a wonderful adventure and learning experience for me, and I’ll share more about that with you when I begin sharing my projects.

I am so excited to see and learn about all the new and exciting products Stampin’ Up! has in store for us in the upcoming new annual catalog later this week at OnStage! Then, I get to turn around and start sharing the exciting news with you, my customers and friends.

So, stay tuned! I have some fun and inspiration coming your way. Plus, I’ll provide you with an update on my experience at OnStage Local in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Blessings,

Lynn

A Baby’s First Birthday

The opportunities for me to create baby cards have been limited, so today’s card is special to me given this fact. I also have to admit, my stamping supplies for creating baby cards are also pretty limited. That said, a friend’s granddaughter recently celebrated her first birthday and my friend was in need of a homemade card idea for her granddaughter. Being new to the world of stamping and card-making, she asked if I could assist her, so I created this card for her.

Before I share my card creation with you, I thought I would share a couple additional details. The design for this card was inspired by a card created by Mary Fish of Stampin’ Pretty, so this is my CASE of Mary’s original creation. I chose to use a onesie as the focal point of the card as my friend’s granddaughter was turning one year old. I also chose to use a couple stamps from a carryover stamp set called Paisleys & Posies (originally from the 2016 Holiday catalog and on page 55 of the Occasions catalog) which I had among my collection of stamping supplies, as the baby’s name is Paisley. Take a look at my paisley onesie for Paisley.

The clear faceted button used with the baker’s twine bow is a retired embellishment. All other supplies used in the card can be found in the current 2016-2017 Annual Catalog and the 2017 Occasions Catalog. The list of current supplies can be found at the bottom of my post. What do you think? How might you change this design up?

Here is a peek at the inside of the card. The sentiment comes from the stamp set Milestone Moments in the current 2017 Occasions Catalog. This is a wonderful and versatile set for all those milestone moments.

Before wrapping up my post today, I have one final picture to share with you. Speaking of onesies, I couldn’t help but share this picture of our delightful Yorkie-poo, Panda, with you. About four days after we rescued her from a local shelter, we took her for her first Veterinary visit. She had been licking her surgical incision quite a bit, so the Veterinarian suggested we purchase a baby onesie for her rather than putting her in the “cone of shame.” She LOVED her onesie, and was a real trooper with having to fasten and unfasten the snaps before/after going outside. Here she is being a real couch potato.

Panda, Yorkie-Poo, Baby Onesie, Stampin Up demo Lynn Tague, see card and gift ideas at BeyondBeachesandBlessings.com #BeyondBeachesandBlessings

Isn’t she just adorable surrounded by some of her toys? This photo was taken last July when she was just over one and a half years old. In case you’re wondering, my husband is the Chief’s fan in our family. I have to confess though, I do cheer for the Chiefs, too, when our teams are not playing against each other.

Spring Has Sprung

Stampin Up, Pals Blog Hop, Demo Lynn Tague at BeyondBeachesandBlessings.com #BeyondBeachesandBlessings

Welcome to the Pals Blog Hop for March 2017. We are thankful you stopped by to take a look at our 2017 Blog Hop monthly themes. This month we are featuring Spring or Spring related projects. We hope you enjoy our creations.

You may just be starting the Blog Hop or may have come from the previous link from the Line-up on the Pals Blog Hop listing shown below. The full lineup will help you move along from blog to blog so you may see all the projects.

When I think of Spring, the first two things that come to mind are Easter and Spring flowers. For today’s Spring Has Sprung projects, I chose Easter. I have this beautiful collection of Amana Easter Eggs, I continue to add to from year-to-year.

At the start of Lent, I bring the basket up from the cool darkness of our basement and enjoy this Easter Egg collection though the season of Lent and the Easter holiday.  I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these special Easter eggs for their vibrant, marbled colors. It’s this vibrant color I chose to bring out in today’s card project. Haven’t heard of these special eggs, you can find many pictures on Pinterest or through a Google search for Amana Easter Eggs. Here is a picture of a small portion of my collection. I added two and a half dozen new eggs to my collection this year.

For my Easter card, I wanted a white basket to match the white basket featured in my photo. This was the first basket I filled with these precious Easter eggs. I also wanted to use our new Watercolor Pencils to create the vibrant color for this card and the eggs. Take a look and see what you think.

The full list of supplies used to create this card is located at the bottom of my post below the Blog Hop Line-Up and includes among other items the Basket Bunch Bundle, Cupcakes & Carousels DSP Stack, and Watercolor Pencils. The inside of the card is stamped with the “Happy Easter” sentiment from the Easter Message stamp set.

Of course, this post would not be complete without sweetening the deal by adding a few chocolate Easter eggs. This time of year you can find one of my favorite Easter treats, Dove’s Milk Chocolate Coconut Creme Eggs. Hope you enjoy these calorie-free chocolate treats.

Aren’t they just adorable and yummy at the same time? I also water-colored the Chocolate Bunnies in Early Espresso. What is your favorite Easter candy? My husband LOVES Jelly Beans this time of year and eats them by the bagful. Leave me a comment below and let me know your favorite sweet treat this time of year.
