Sunshine Wishes & Valentines

Today, I am sharing a Valentine’s card I created for this week’s Global Design Project Challenge GDP072. Below is the picture of the card inspiration by Designer, Krista Frattin, we are using to CASE (Copy and Selectively Edit). Additional details on this challenge can be found here.

#GDP072

Before I show you the card I submitted for my #GDP072 entry, I want to share the first version of this card with you, with no added embellishment. I think you’ll find this card quick and easy to create. Take a look.

I created these cards by combining patterned paper from the Sending Love Designer Series Paper Stack with the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits, along with Real Red and Basic Black Cardstock and Red Glimmer Paper. Keep in mind, you could also use Real Red for the die cut heart rather than the glimmer paper.

The next version of this card is my Global Design Project entry. To the above version, I added a piece of Real Red ribbon from the Sending Love Combo Ribbon Pack.

To create these cards, cut a 5.5″ x 8.5″ piece of Real Red cardstock, score 8.5″ side at 4.25″ then fold in half. Cut a 3″ x 3″ piece of patterned paper from the DSP pack and a 2″ x 4.25″ piece of patterned paper from the DSP pack. Cut a 2-7/8″ x 2-7/8″ piece of Basic Black cardstock. Using the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits, die cut the Heart (from Red Glimmer Paper or Real Red cardstock) and the word “love” from Basic Black cardstock.

Then, if you wish, add some embellishment, such as a piece of ribbon or rhinestones. Speaking of rhinestones, to the final version of today’s card  I added three rhinestones from the Rhinestone Basic Jewels pack. Check out this final version in the picture below.

And finally, one last photo of the two embellished cards side-by-side.
